Explore nature’s bounty at South Seas
At South Seas Island Resort, wildlife exists everywhere you look. The resort village is a protected wildlife sanctuary – a place where natural beauty surrounds you at every turn.
The "true" residents of this resort include all wildlife residing on the island and in the waters. From the Bottle-nosed Dolphins and West Indian Manatees, to the Great Egrets, White Ibis and Cuban Anole Lizards, every inch of sea, land and air teems with beautiful indigenous creatures.
Whether you have a passion for nature, or simply enjoy the outdoors, there are a wide variety of educational and fun activities for you and your family to take part in.
- Ocean Discovery Center
Sanibel Sea School’s Ocean Discovery Center (ODC) is designed to provide resort guests a tantalizing taste of ocean exploration. There is something for the whole family in the ODC; those young at heart can challenge their senses in the tunnel of darkness or in the tactile tubes. Five aquaria let you see an array of marine habitats represented in southwest Florida and informative panels let you learn things about the ocean that you probably didn’t already know. Please come and join us in better understanding the ocean that supports us.
