Hurricane Dorian Updates

August 30, 2019

Please stay tuned to the latest updates regarding Hurricane Dorian, below.

Hurricane Dorian Update #3, 8.31.19 // The latest forecast shows Hurricane Dorian’s path has changed and now excludes Captiva Island and Lee County from the National Hurricane Center’s “Cone of Uncertainty”. The center of Dorian is not expected to pass over Southwest Florida.

Currently, the resort is open and operational and we now welcome our Labor Day Weekend guests. For more information regarding Hurricane Dorian, please see below.

Hurricane Dorian Update #2, 8.30.19 // Today, conditions at South Seas are good and the resort remains operational. Lee County, which includes Captiva Island, is not under a hurricane watch or warning. While we are currently open, we do not recommend that those seeking evacuation – from the East Coast of Florida or otherwise – make arrangements to stay at South Seas. Hurricanes by nature are incredibly uncertain. Captiva Island is a barrier island, which is not a safe place to be during a potentially devastating hurricane. We recommend evacuees follow the advice of their respective local authorities or seek shelter in a more inland location.

We continue taking precautions to ensure the safety of guests, employees, property, and grounds. We will continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian, and as always, the safety of our guests and employees remains our priority.

We will update you as we have more information to share. In the meantime, for updated information about the storm, please refer to the National Hurricane Center:

While potential landfall in Florida is still days away, we are taking precautions to ensure the safety of resort guests, employees, property, and grounds.

We will continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian, and as always, the safety of resort guests and employees remains our priority. We will update you as we have more information to share.
