We’re excited to once again host Yacht Rock Weekend, a three-day, family-friendly festival featuring fun, food and of course, live music. A complimentary event for all guests of the resort, Yacht Rock Weekend promises captivating performances and engaging activities set amongst our picturesque, 330-acre destination resort. Fans of Yacht Rock, the smooth, easy-listening music popular during the late seventies and early eighties, will delight in Yacht Rock Weekend’s festivities. The weekend kicks off on Friday night with a video compilation of some of the genre’s greatest hits – projected on a big screen in the picturesque Marina Walk. Also on Friday night, kids and parents alike can head over to our Captiva Golf Course & the West Lawn for an event that continues to gain huge popularity; Glow Night! Family favorite activities are transformed into glow-in-the-dark fun with Glow Golf, Glow Volleyball, Glow Frisbee and Laser Battle. Not to mention, there will be fun music and glow sticks galore!
Saturday will commence with a Labor Day bash at the Resort Pool Complex. Non-stop activities include log rolling, tie-dye, hermit crab racing and DJ Jeff Jodice rockin’ all day long. As day turns to night, guests can make their way to the beach for a Sunset Beach Bash. This celebration will include a seafood boil, drink specials, volleyball, live music and our Sunset Shellebration with Danny Morgan. The festivities will continue until midnight with Harbourside Bar & Grill hosting “live” karaoke, during which participants will have the opportunity to sing with Jeff and Wendy Key of The Florida Keys.
A South Seas Golf Scramble will be available Sunday morning to any guest wanting to play. Guests can relax and enjoy this fun format for all skill levels while taking in sweeping views of the Gulf. After that, the real party begins at the Yacht Rock Music Festival. An island luau complete with an epic BBQ and other traditional accompaniments as well as lawn games will kick off the festivities. From early afternoon until after the sun has set, Sunset Beach will play host to live performances by John McLane, Chris Casida, and on Sunday evening the resort’s West Lawn will transform into Yacht Rock Weekend’s Main Stage with a performance by None Other Band (aka New Kids on the Yacht).
