Introducing Beach House Restaurant, Soft Opening September 29

September 23, 2025

Sunsets on Captiva Island have always been worth celebrating, and now there’s a new way to savor them. On September 29, 2025, South Seas Resort will host the soft opening of Beach House, a refined casual restaurant perched right on Sunset Beach.

This long-anticipated addition brings together everything that makes dining on Captiva extraordinary: a beachside setting where nearly every table offers an ocean view, flavors inspired by the Gulf, and an atmosphere that shifts seamlessly from laid-back lunch to starlit dinner.

From the moment you arrive, Beach House makes an impression. The building itself is graced by a striking mosaic mural, an artwork visible from the road that hints at the creativity inside. Step closer, and you’ll find an open, airy design where natural wood tones and creamy whites set off panoramic windows and roll-up doors that blur the line between indoors and out.

Seated at your table, Sunset Beach unfurls in white sand splendor, the Gulf beyond stretching endlessly. As the evening advances and the sun lowers in the sky, the horizon transforms with shades of coral, lavender, and tangerine. With both indoor and outdoor seating, guests can choose their preferred vantage point to experience an island sunset or linger under the stars as night settles in.

Gulf-Inspired Flavors, Served Fresh

The soft opening menu introduces a lineup that celebrates the diverse flavors of the Gulf Coast and beyond. Expect dishes that nod to the traditions of Central America, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida—all interpreted with South Seas flair.

Start with shareables like the Conch Republic Fritters, crisp and golden with an island dipping sauce, or a bubbling skillet of Blue Crab, Spinach, & Artichoke Dip served with blue corn tortilla chips. For a taste of the sea, order the Steamed Royal Red Shrimp Bucket, peeled and tossed in butter, seasonings, and a splash of key lime.

Handhelds strike a balance of casual and elevated, including Fish Tacos with blackened Mahi Mahi, pineapple salsa, and chipotle-lime aioli, or the indulgent French Quarter Dip, layered with prime rib, horseradish cream, and provolone “fondue”.

The entrées round out the menu with dishes that capture both comfort and creativity. The Red Snapper Veracruz arrives with tomato, olives, and jalapeños over saffron rice—a dish almost as colorful as the Captiva sunset. Or dive into the Gulf Coconut Shrimp Platter, served with caramelized pineapple sweet chili sauce, waffle fries, and coleslaw. Pasta lovers will find comfort in the Creamy Creole Chicken Penne, with Tasso ham and peppadew peppers, or the lighter Parmesan Primavera, brimming with seasonal vegetables and orzo.

And then there’s dessert. From the island-bright Key Lime Pie to the playful Tempura Banana Split, each sweet ending feels like a reward for lingering just a little longer.

Raise a Glass

The food is only half of the story. Beach House pairs its Gulf-inspired dishes with a drink menu that celebrates craft and creativity. Guests can expect a mix of island classics, wines, and tropical refreshers. A standout? The Tipsy Millionaire, a signature cocktail crafted with Don Julio 1942 Añejo, Grand Marnier, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar. Smooth, citrusy, and a little indulgent, it’s the perfect toast to an evening spent by the water.

A Toast to What’s Next

The soft opening of Beach House marks just the beginning. On October 15, 2025, Beach House will open with its full menu, taking its place as the signature beachfront dining experience of South Seas. Until then, the invitation is simple: gather on Sunset Beach, sip something refreshing, and enjoy an island-inspired meal as the sky puts on its nightly show.
