Now Open: Yacht Harbour Marina at South Seas

May 17, 2025

Situated amid the natural beauty of Captiva Island, South Seas has long been a cherished destination for boaters along Florida’s Gulf Coast. Following a closure due to storm damage, Yacht Harbour Marina at South Seas has officially re-openedand the enhancements made during its downtime should create an even better experience for guests arriving by water.

With improved resilience and guest experience at the forefront, the marina has introduced a series of structural and operational upgrades to ensure that it can function seamlessly without compromising on service or comfort.

Smarter Infrastructure for Greater Resilience

One of the standout additions is a set of new pedestal risers, designed to keep power and utility hookups elevated above potential storm surge levels. “The pedestal risers lift them up higher off the dock,” explains Charles Martz, Director of Marina Operations at South Seas, “so potentially, when we get another storm, we can reopen the marina more quickly. We’ve also rerouted all of our fuel lines for the marina, and all new electrical runs as well. Everything’s up to date and new—ready to get the marina operational and fun.”

Whether you’re docking a center console for a brief island stay or cruising in on a 130-foot yacht, Yacht Harbour Marina is fully equipped to accommodate vessels of various sizes, with fuel, live bait, frozen bait, fishing essentials, water, ice, and more readily available. New power systems ensure a reliable, modern experience across every slip.

South Seas Resort Access

What truly sets the Yacht Harbour Marina apart is the seamless connection to the full South Seas experience. By paying a resort fee, guests staying aboard their vessels gain access to all the resort’s Club Captiva amenities—including the newly refreshed Bayview Pools, dining experiences such as Redfish Grill, Harborside, and Scoops & Slices, Sunset Beach amenities, resort events, and more. Those staying overnight in South Seas vacation rentals or Homes of Distinction enjoy the same resort access.

Your Gateway to Captiva Island

Arriving by boat at South Seas is the beginning of your island escape. Once you call in, the marina team meets you at the dock, helps tie up your vessel, and gets you checked in. From there, the choice is yours: unwind at the resort and enjoy the view, depart for a day of fishing, or explore the island’s natural wonders and laid-back charm.

Guests without boats can still explore the Gulf. Fishing charters and sightseeing trips can be arranged directly through Yacht Harbour Marina. “If you wanted to go fishing for the day, sightseeing, or up to Cabbage Key for lunch, our guides will take you out for a day on the water.”
