Fact Sheet on South Seas Redevelopment
Captiva Island Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Plan
As the reimagined resort begins to unfold, South Seas has partnered with local organizations to enhance and protect the island, ensuring a positive environmental impact not just within the boundaries of the resort, but throughout all of Captiva Island. In September 2022, a privately funded Resiliency Study was conducted to provide recommendations to improve the future resiliency of all of Captiva Island. The study focused on stormwater, wastewater, sea-level rise, and increasing storm intensity, with a comprehensive plan to address all environmental issues.
Those findings can be found below or read here.

Lee County Building Height Requirements
Lee County Staff initiated an amendment to the Land Development Code to help the community build back after Hurricane Ian. These changes are necessary for South Seas and the other parts of Lee County. Currently, the County Staff is meeting with local residents to inform them of the facts and correct any misinformation in regard to the Land Development Code amendments. Below is a link for more information from Lee County.
